At Micro Focus, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact – as are our customers, partners and suppliers. Our aim is to make sustainable and responsible business part of the way we operate. From lowering our energy consumption and waste materials, to helping our customers address their carbon footprint and adopt carbon friendly IT strategies – and encouraging our employees to live and work more sustainably.
Pledge to Do an Act of Green
As we celebrate Earth Day on April 22, our company’s pledge is to encourage and inspire sustainable actions – because we believe we all have a role to play in looking after our environment. In addition, all our employees are invited to ‘Pledge to Do an Act of Green’ and make a commitment to take action to help ‘Restore Our Earth’ – this year’s Earth Day theme.
Celebrating with Jaguar Racing
This year we are delighted to celebrate Earth Day with the Jaguar Racing Formula E Team. Earlier this year, Micro Focus became the official technical partner of Jaguar Racing who compete in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, an electric motorsport series. A number of the team have joined our employees by making their own pledges. From putting on an extra jumper instead of turning up the heating to growing our own fruit and vegetables, together these relatively small acts can make a big difference.
Education & Awareness
Sustainability and climate change is important for everyone to understand, so to support this we are introducing a new Sustainability Education Program, available to all employees. The program includes a collection of engaging short courses, delivered via LinkedIn Learning, together with videos designed to enhance our understanding of sustainability, and why it matters to all of us. The courses offer something for everyone, ranging from introductory to leadership level.
Thirdly, as part of the Micro Focus INSPIRE social responsibility program, all our employees are encouraged to volunteer; every employee has four days a year to make a meaningful difference in their local community.
We all need a healthy Earth to support our jobs, livelihoods, health and survival, and happiness. Now, more than ever, doing the right thing matters – and together we can make difference.
