Introducing TechConnect: The New GWAVAcon

TechConnect, formerly known as GWAVAcon, will take place this September 19th and 20th, deep in the heart of Berlin, Germany.

It’s amazing to think that it’s been a year since GWAVA became a part of Micro Focus. Around this time last year, I was able to spend some time out in the GWAVA EMEA offices and support GWAVAcon 2016. GWAVACon was always at the heart of what GWAVA did, and it is even more exciting this year as the former GWAVA team and Micro Focus collaborate to make the most complete event yet – TechConnect.

The event maintains the same core solutions and products as points of discussion – Retain Unified Archiving, Collaboration, ZENworks Endpoint Management, Collaboration, and File, Print & Networking services; however, Micro Focus’s broad product portfolio will allow for an even more complete, integrated discussion.

Keynote Speaker – Angelika Gifford

The Micro Focus merger with HPE has been completed, making Micro Focus the 7th largest pure play software company in the world. On September 1st Chris Hsu rang the famous bell at the New York Stock Exchange, signifying Day One of the joint company. The merger has opened doors to make TechConnect even better, and one of those is the keynote speaker. We are excited to hear from HPE’s – and now, Micro Focus’s – Angelika Gifford, General Manager DACH for Micro Focus. As an expert in software sales in the DACH region, including experience with both Microsoft and HPE, she will be able to give us great insights into those markets at TechConnect in Berlin.

What Sessions Will be Offered?

Both conference days offer a wide selection of specialised lectures and discussions for administrators of messaging infrastructures, IT Managers, IT Consultants, and Resellers. More than 50 sessions will be offered, focusing on Micro Focus, NetIQ, and partner solutions. These sessions range from general discussion, “hands-on” sessions, to technical training, on the following product/solution groups:

Unified Archiving

As always, Retain Unified Archiving will hold a strong presence at TechConnect. The discussion will range from a strategical analysis and roadmap of Retain to requirements, setup and features. Hot topics such as Archiving 2.0, the use of email archives in litigation, Retain best practices, and the benefits of a unified archive will all be points of discussion.

Collaboration

When Micro Focus acquired GWAVA, it showed a huge commitment to GroupWise customers and those using its collaboration products. This shows in TechConnect, with the 15 sessions dedicated to GroupWise and its supporting products/features. GroupWise 18, social threading, messaging features, and supporting products such as Disaster Recovery, Vibe, Vertigo, and Redline will all be discussed. We are excited to be joined by IT specialists Bechtle and Open Horizons on these subjects, as well.

File, Print & Networking Services

With the most sessions dedicated to this category, there will be plenty of discussion on a broad range of products and solutions. New releases of Filr 3.2, OES 2018, Micro Focus Service Desk 7, and more will be discussed. You’ll gain insight from thought leaders addressing challenges such as printing in a geo-dispersed company, business file management, and more.

Security

The merger of GWAVA and Micro Focus brought together Micro Focus’s strong portfolio of NetIQ identity and access management products with the original GWAVA email security solution (now known as Micro Focus Secure Messaging Gateway). We will speak to booming markets such as advanced authentication, privileged access management, and identity governance, as well as covering what’s new in Micro Focus Secure Messaging Gateway.

Server Migration

New this year, there will be one session on server migration. PlateSpin Transformation Manager (formerly NetIQ PlateSpin Transformation Manager) helps enterprises, service providers, and systems integrators plan and track large-scale data center migration projects across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructures.

Endpoint Management

Of course, we will also be covering endpoint management. There will be updates on ZENworks 2017, coverage of ZENworks features, sessions that talk about security in ZENworks, and a guest session from Liquit.

See you in Berlin!

We look forward to a great event at TechConnect this September, and hope to see you there. For more information on the event, agenda, and registration, please visit the official TechConnect website.
